Arctic Highways brings together eleven prominent artists from the Arctic region, presenting contemporary Indigenous art through personal stories and expressions. With themes such as identity, place, and tradition, the exhibition invites new perspectives on life in the Arctic – where nature is an obvious and ever-present part of the experience.
The exhibition has been internationally acclaimed and has toured in the USA, Canada and Norway. It opened at House of Sweden in Washington D.C. in March 2022 and now concludes with a permanent installation at Sjungaregården I'm Granö.
Through a diversity of expressions – from world-unique embroideries and sculptures to crafts, graphics, and photography – the artists explore questions of identity, living conditions, and belonging in a region of growing global significance.
