Now, Arctic Highways is back in Europe and will be on display in Snåsa and Steinkjer in Norway during the summer of 2025. After that, it will become a permanent exhibition in Granö.

More information will be available on what the programme will include during the opening. The programme will start at 12.00 at Saemien Sijte in Snåsa and at 16.00 at Steinkjer kulturhus.

Here's what the organisers say:

”It is with great pleasure and pride that we get to show the Arctic Highway exhibition at Steinkjer Cultural Centre. Presenting Sami contemporary art of this quality means a lot to us - both as communicators of art and as a meeting place for different cultures and voices. The exhibition gives the audience a unique opportunity to experience strong artistic expressions that challenge, engage and expand the understanding of Sami identity and belonging. We greatly appreciate being able to be an arena for this important and meaningful communication.”

”Saemien Sijte is the only Sámi venue for the exhibition and we look forward to exhibiting art from many recognised indigenous artists. We hope that many will make the trip to visit the Arctic Highways exhibition at Steinkjer Kulturhus and Saemien Sijte, which are both venues for the many works. It is with great pleasure that we, in collaboration with Steinkjer Cultural Centre, will now show contemporary art that addresses challenges from the Sami and Arctic region.”
