I create my stories with needle and thread. Early on, I realised that we Sami lack stories in the form of pictures. We have been good at preserving our oral stories, and I am grateful to my family for giving oral traditions a central place in our lives.
It is these stories that constitute the fertile soil that has nourished my thoughts about what I can achieve through my visual storytelling. My images include scenes from everyday life, stories from Sami mythology, political reflections and depictions of Sami culture and history.
