Čiehkádeapmi

(Hiding)

By Gunvor Guttorm

Installation, various materials

Čiehkádeapmi referring to the ongoing pandemic, when borders were suddenly closed and social and family relationships were put to the test, and we all ended up in a kind of trap.

At the same time, it refers to how the Sámi and other indigenous peoples have, to a greater or lesser extent, been forced to hide their identities – or have felt unable to show who they are.
